Over the summer/fall I became really close with the guys of Eleventyseven and got really excited when I found out that they would be releasing a new CD. But the fact that half of the album is all the songs from the QUOTA EP kind of made me uninterested. I also think the timing of it sucked for me because I was focusing on other albums at the same time. A few of my favorites from this album are Ghost, Silent Symphony and Quota.
FOUR: Family Force 5’s III Released on October 18, 2011
Not going to lie, I was least looking forward to this album all year. One time when I saw them they said that III would be a mix of Business… and Dance or Die which made me really excited. Then when I found out my favorite Christian band was going to be singing a song called “Dang Girl” and “Wobble” I was completely disinterested. But, I decided to go ahead and preorder the CD just to see and because they have been my favorite band for so long. It took me a good month before I was happy with the album and just had to keep telling myself that they have grown up and not to label them as a “Christian” band anymore. Now I cant get the songs out of my head. Some favorite songs are Can You Feel It, Get On Outta Here, and (shocker) Wobble.
Three: D.R.U.G.S’ Self-Titled Released on February 22, 2011
When I heard that Craig would be starting a new band I was super pumped and then when I found out Matt was in it…I was sold. I wasnt quite sure what to expect but they definitely delivered. Seeing them at Warped made the whole thing come together. I never get tired of listening to the album and it is usually on repeat while I shower. aha. A few of my favorite songs are My Swagger Has a First Name, Mr. Owl Ate My Metal Worm, and Laminated E.T. Animal.
TWO: The Cab’s Symphony Soldier Released on August 23, 2011
FINALLY. Finally a new The Cab album was released and I was sucked right into the madness. Which was all well deserved. It took me a good two weeks to understand how amazing it was, but from then on I couldnt stay away from it. I sometimes tend to forget about albums because new ones are always being released from many artists…but, I could never forget this one. There was a more grown up sound yet it still sounds just like them. And Some Favorites include Temporary Bliss, Animal, and Another Me.
ONE: The Maine’s Pioneer Released on December 6, 2011
WOW. Okay. I have owned this CD since Friday. So, 5-6 days. It is already my number one played album on iTunes. There is not one song on this album that is not great. I cant pick a favorite, and I cant complain about it at all. I believe it is their best one to date and the sound is something that just FITS them. Their attitude, their style, their everything. This album is 100% theirs and it shows. I cant listen to it without getting emotional especially after last night and seeing John get emotional over it. As of today, The Maine is my favorite band. If I had to recommend a few songs they would be My Heroine, Im Sorry, and When Im At Home.
